July: Thoughts from Huw
We have recently celebrated Trinity Sunday with the hope that we can worship the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in sincerity and truth.
I recently came across this story titled ‘Reflection in a well’
Once a young boy stood watching a traveller as he drank from a well in the town square. After drinking, the man continued to gaze in the well, as though looking at someone. He was a giant of a man but had a friendly face. So the boy approached him and asked ‘Who lives down there ?’ ‘God does,’ answered the traveller. ‘Can I see him?’ ‘Yes you can’ said the traveller. Then taking the boy into his arms he lifted him up so that he could see down into the well. All the boy could see, however, was his own reflection in the water. ‘But that’s only me’ he cried in disappointment. ‘All I see is me.’ ‘Ah,’ replied the traveller, ‘now you know where God lives. God lives in you.’

June: Thoughts from Huw
Jesus chose twelve disciples and then he sent them out to do work. They were told to cure the sick, raise the dead, heal the leprous and expel demons. That is to say, the apostles were charged with changing people’s lives. Their task in other words, was to make a difference in people’s lives.

May: Thoughts from Huw
The Easter season brings joy and hope. We certainly need hope in our troubled world today. We can face anything, endure anything, as long as we know or believe it will not last for ever, and that something better will happen. For instance, people will face a long painful and dangerous operation if they believe it will make them well again. Prisoners can face a long sentence as long as they believe it will end, and that they will enjoy freedom again. We can face the rigours of a long and miserable winter because we know that spring will come again.
